Netcare UCT Private Academic Hospital

UCT Private Academic Hospital (UCTPAH) is an innovative collaboration between Netcare, the University of Cape Town Medical School, and Groote Schuur Hospital.

At UCTPAH we provide quality, person centred medical care in a warm and welcoming environment where our patients are cared for with respect and compassion.

Our modern 112 bed facility, equipped with advanced technology, is unique in that it has access to an extensive network of collective medical expertise via collegial collaboration with the University of Cape Town Medical School and the specialists at Groote Schuur Hospital. This means our patients are assured that their clinical care is in excellent hands with commitment to achieve the best possible clinical outcomes for them.

Patients are cared for in medical and surgical wards, and there is a dedicated paediatric unit for young patients. Specialised care is provided in high care and intensive care units.

In addition UCTPAH offers:

  • Doctors’ consulting and day procedure rooms
  • A kidney and renal dialysis centre
  • A catheterisation laboratory incorporating an interventional angiography unit for minimally invasive cardiology procedures
  • An in-house general practitioner.

Our in-hospital retail pharmacy dispenses prescription and over the counter medicine to the public and provides clinical pharmacy services to patients.
